Jack and Jill Children’s Foundation
Jack and Jill is a nationwide charity that funds and provides in-home nursing care and respite support to families caring for children, up to the age of six, with severe learning disability often associated with complex medical needs. Typically, these children may be tube fed, oxygen dependent, may not sleep, take seizures, need a lot of medication and require around-the-clock care.
Understandably, their parents can be exhausted and need a break, which is where Jack and Jill comes in. Our service operates seven days a week, with no means test, no red tape and no waiting list. Another key part of our service is end-of-life-care for all children up to the age six, irrespective of diagnosis, empowering parents to take their child home to die at this most difficult time.
Since 1997, Jack and Jill has supported almost 100 families in communities across Kerry, and today we currently have 16 Kerry families availing of Jack and Jill support. The Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle will help to continue to fund and deliver this vital service in homes right across the Kingdom and afar.
“The support we get from Jack and Jill is so important. It’s invaluable really. It’d be difficult to imagine how we would manage without it really. I’d say it’d be an incredibly hard task to manage on our own, so we are incredibly grateful to Jack and Jill. We’d be fighting this battle on our own without them.” (Jack and Jill mum).
Thank you so very much for your support.
