IRISH CANCER SOCIETY – 170km My Way Charity Partner 2024

Cancer is the most common cause of death in Ireland with more than 9,000 people dying each year. That’s almost 25 people dying from cancer every day. The Irish Cancer Society works towards a future where nobody dies from cancer, and everyone affected by the disease will have access to world class treatment and support.

It is only thanks to the generosity of the Irish public that they are able to provide vital free services and support to ensure nobody in Ireland has to face cancer alone. The Irish Cancer Society’s Night Nursing service delivers vital respite for families and allows cancer patients to spend their final days at home surrounded by their loved ones. “In all the chaos of someone you love passing away, they brought a sense of calm to us and the whole house. I don’t know how we would have been able to cope without them. When the rest of the world slept, our Night Nurse helped us watch over our mum…so we could have the best goodbye.” – Shauna Diamond on her families experience with the Irish Cancer Society Night Nursing Service.

What is 170km My Way?

170km My Way is an opportunity for cyclists of all ability to be part of the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle 2024.

170km My Way is a commitment to complete 170km of cycling over a period of time and in a location(s) of your choice.

170km My Way is ideally suited to cyclists who may not be capable of completing 170km in one go, to those who have a clash of commitments on the day of the cycle or to cyclists who are overseas and want to be associated with our fundraising activity.

How do I take part?

• Log on to the Ring of Kerry Charity Cycle website and click on the
• Registration Button – Registration opens on 1st December 2023
• Under the main Beneficial Charities, select the Irish Cancer Society 170km My Way
• Complete your registration and activate your iDonate page to start fundraising
• Set your own goals and timeframe to complete 170km
